Moving further north we reach the Asiago<\/strong> plateau, a world suspended halfway between the Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige, which, precisely because of its border position, assumed a role of primary importance during the First World War.<\/p>\n

The memory of the many young lives broken is still vivid in the Shrine erected on the hill Leiten, a triumphal arch that seems to watch over the mountain town.<\/p>\n

The old town centre was almost completely rebuilt in the 1920s and today attracts many tourists from all over the Veneto region and the surrounding regions.<\/p>\n
