A few kilometers away from Vicenza there are Bassano<\/strong> and Marostica<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The first links its name to grappa and white asparagus, very valuable and presented in infinite variations by local restaurants.<\/p>\n

Marostica instead recalls an ancient legend and a dispute that ended with a game of chess<\/strong> instead of the traditional duel between gentlemen pretenders of the same damsel.<\/p>\n

To remember this fact, suspended between reality and fantasy, still today on the third weekend of September of even years, a chess game is held, played with living characters in the giant chessboard<\/strong> set up in the main square of the Venetian town.<\/p>\n

Against the backdrop of the medieval re-enactment, the 14th century and still well-preserved Scaligeri walls cannot be missed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
